Overview
Smoking is exhalation and inhalation of toxins by the burning of tobacco in cigars, cigarettes and pipes. Most of us are conscious that smoking is detrimental for health; however virtually all of us are unaware of the fact that smoking contributes for many dentist problems. To smoke cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, cigars, hookah water pipes and another type of tobacco intake results in tooth decay and gum disease (recommended you read) problems. Dentists should attempt to educate their patients about the damage that smoking is able to cause to the dental health of theirs. Just like every other part of the body teeth and gums are very important and should be taken care of thoroughly.
